This event was all about the spicy kick. To attract viewers, I chose a vibrant color palette to grab attention. Large, bold shapes that are too big to be contained in the image area evoke a huge good time and big taste during the “chili” fall weather.
The art director wanted imagery that would capture attention in a busy hallway and communicate the event’s energy and fun to viewers. I expressed the vigor of jazz through the impact of large instruments bleeding off the page, bold color and flat, simple shapes.
Serenity Day Spa needed materials to capture elegance and tropical luxury. For the covers, I used luminous foliage on a faded green background to mimic the soft lighting in Serenity Day Spa. Secret Sands Spa needed a new look for packaging that would emphasize the energizing, uplifting yet calming nature of the spa experience. To achieve this, I chose to work with complementary colors by using a bright, sunny orange and cool, blue glass bottles.
Devastation on the Delaware pulls the reader into events of the flood of ‘55 with a richly detailed narrative style.
